Dr. Timothy R. McIlveene is a seasoned business strategist, consultant, and scholar who bridges more than two decades of senior-level corporate leadership with cutting-edge academic research. He currently serves as Assistant Professor and Assistant Department Chair of Business Administration at the University of West Florida, where he teaches MBA and undergraduate courses in Strategic Management, Business Analytics, Human Resources, and Business Processes.
Before entering academia, Dr. McIlveene built a distinguished corporate career, holding executive and leadership roles at Fortune 150 company Lumen (CenturyLink) and utility giant Entergy. He served as Chief of Staff to the COO during a period of hyper-growth, supporting acquisitions that grew the company’s revenue by 600% and employee base by 900%. He later led national IT and cloud sales effectiveness initiatives, drove economic development strategy, and spearheaded utility modernization and regulatory compliance projects. His experience spans investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, strategy execution, organizational change, cross-functional leadership, and global humanitarian work across Asia.
Dr. McIlveene earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Management) from the University of South Alabama, where his research focused on how mergers and acquisitions impact corporate social responsibility. He has quickly built a prolific scholarly record, publishing across leading outlets such as the California Management Review Insights, European Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Applied Business and Economics, Journal of Brand Strategy, Journal of Family Business Management, and ISACA. His work explores corporate social responsibility, institutional trust, emerging technologies like AI and large language models, and organizational behavior.
An award-winning professor and researcher, Dr. McIlveene has presented at national and international conferences and serves as Vice President of the Advances in Business Management Conference. He also brings nonprofit board leadership experience for multiple organizations and is the Founder of Aimee’s Heart Foundation in Nepal, extending his expertise into sustainability and social impact.
